1-2 April 2026
Innovation 4.0, 3 Research Link, Singapore 117602
This Forum brings together policymakers, financial institutions, corporates, academics, and civil society leaders to explore how nature-related risks and dependencies are reshaping global supply chains, investment decisions, and development pathways.
Theme
Forging A Common Language Across Conservation, Trade and Finance
While 44% of global GDP depends directly on nature, its accelerating loss remains "lost in translation" within the global economy - a disconnect most acute in biodiverse, trade-dependent regions like ASEAN. A systemic misallocation of capital, where finance harming nature outweighs nature-positive investment by nearly 140 times, creates hidden yet immediate risks to the supply chains, financial stability, and food security that underpin the region's growth. The core challenge is a critical translation gap: scientific data on regional ecological collapse does not speak the language of finance and trade, while market signals fail to protect the vital ecosystems underpinning the region's economy. Bridging this gap is essential for ASEAN's - and the world's - long-term resilience.
Hosted in Singapore - ASEAN's nexus for trade, finance, and sustainability - this inaugural forum convenes global and regional stakeholders to move from shared understanding to action. Over two days, we will tackle the fundamental questions:
- Why does nature matter to supply chain stability?
- What policy and regulatory shifts can rewire incentives?
- How do we price nature-related risk into financial decisions?
- How can conservation advocates translate ecological data into language that business and markets act on?
- What common frameworks can bridge science, policy, and finance?
- What concrete changes can we deliver in the next 3-5 years to ensure nature is embedded in every trade and investment decision across ASEAN?

This series of presentations explores the shift of nature from a philanthropic cost to a core economic necessity. It examines how different stakeholders interpret nature-related risks in distinct ways, shaped by their roles within global supply chains, resource extraction, and ecological stability. Drawing on emerging policy frameworks, such as mandatory due diligence and natural capital accounting, the session highlights evolving expectations for global finance. Through concrete cases, it also demonstrates how nature dependencies can be translated into actionable business and investment strategies, underscoring the link between commercial resilience and the protection of natural assets.

DAY 2 (09:30 - 15:30)
APRIL 2, 2026 (Thursday)
In this core collaborative session, participants shift from discussion to design. Each breakout will tackle the unique challenge identified from Day 1 to build a piece of the actionable roadmap. The goal is for each group to emerge with specific proposals that will later be synthesized into a unified, cross-sector action plan.
For each gap, moderators will guide each group to discuss:
-
Gap Analysis: What are the specific causes; Why are current solutions not enough; How can we innovate; Who can play a role.
-
